Welcome to Mosh the Subnet πΈπ»
I'm a Network Support Specialist and IT professional based in UT. I specialize in bridging the gap between complex infrastructure and efficient automation. This site serves as a live documentation of my homelab, my career journey, and my ongoing projects in networking and Python.
π About Me
After spending the majority of my professional career working in the medical industry, I pivoted to Network Engineering, where I manage infrastructure for government-contracted projects. I'm a firm believer in the "Lab Everything" philosophy-if Iβm not configuring it at work, Iβm probably breaking it (and fixing it) in my Proxmox cluster at home.
When I'm not in the terminal, you can find me at a punk rock show or tinkering with my automation workflows.
π Key Accomplishments
- Network Transition: Successfully negotiated and transitioned into a Network Support Specialist role after obtaining my CCNA and supporting a mid-sized medical device manufacturing company as an IT intern.
- Education: Working on completing my Bachelorβs degree from WGU (Western Governors University), specializing in Network/Cloud Engineering.
- Automation: Developed custom n8n workflows to automate personal productivity and lab management.
- Content Creation: Founder of @moshthesubnet, an Instagram community focused on making networking/cloud concepts accessible for career changers with a little bit of punk rock/emo flare.
π οΈ The Stack (My Lab)
I use my homelab to mirror enterprise environments. My current setup includes: * Virtualization: Proxmox VE, VMware Workstation Pro * Networking: OPNsense(firewall), Cisco, UniFi, VLAN segmentation, and OSPF testing. * Storage: TrueNAS Scale * Containers: Docker and Podman.
